A scientific article is the report that serves for the dissemination of scientific findings to other researchers. Most articles follow a common format known as IMRaD: Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion.

Template

1. Title

The title should be concise, original and informative. It must clearly reflect the main topic of the study.

2. Abstract

The abstract is a short standalone summary (150–300 words) including:

3. Introduction

The introduction provides the scientific context of the study. It includes:

It answers the question: Why was this study done?

4. Materials and Methods

This section describes how the study was conducted in sufficient detail to ensure reproducibility. It includes:

5. Results

This section presents the findings without interpretation. It includes:

No interpretation or comparison should be included here.

It answers the question: What was found?

6. Discussion

The discussion interprets the results into the scientific context:

7. Conclusion

A short section summarizing the main findings and their significance:

A list of all cited works by their order of appearance within the text. Formatted according to journal guidelines.
